So my computer has three disks, all adobe programs are installed in C D is used for all the files I am currently working on and E is for all the files that I am done working with in D.

#Metasequoia failed to save the file windows#
On the other hand, if I open the "originalfile-outlines.ai" from Illustrator or from the Windows explorer, it is always in outlines, as it should. This also happens if (even wothout turning my computer off and on again) I try to use the File explorer from Windows to open the "originalfile.ai" in Illustrator: again, there is no text, only outlines. Yet, if I turn dow my computer and turn it on again, and attempt to repeat these steps again, the "originalfile.ai" it contains no text at all, only outlines. Now, when I attempt to open "originalfile.ai" from Illustrator using File>Open, it contains text, as it should. (ctr+shift+s) and I save it in the same place as the original file, but with a modified name: "originalfile-outlines".ai

After doing so, I save the file again, this time pressing Save as. Then, i press Select>object>all text objects, and press "create outlines", so now, there is no more text, just outlines. When it is finished, I save it (ctrl+s) using it's original name, for example "originalfile.ai". So I am working on a file I've been working on for several days now, without any complications. Although, this has been happening to me for about four months now.Īlso please exact steps to reproduce the issue.
#Metasequoia failed to save the file update#
I use windows 10, and I'm sorry I don't know how which exact version of Illustrator I am using, but it's Cc cloud, and my last update was about a month ago. Please tell us your system version and Illustrator version. To answer your questions, I have copied them below, and aswered them individually. It also appears in outlines if i double click them from the explorer. If I do, then they no longer are ok, the text appears in outlines. The files are ok if i open the using File>open, as long as I dont shut down my computer. I used to think that it was me who was being clumpsy at the moment of saving the file, but I recently realized the problem relied on the computer, and a friend told me it could be a save bug. I would really appreciate some help on shedding a light on the cause of this problem, or finding ways to solve it, since I am constantly losing information. So in result I lose the information that I kept before as text. In other words, the original file appears to have been saved as an outlines file without me commanding it so. Nevertheless, if I open the files from the windows file explorer (or turn off my computer), both files (the original with text and also the outlines file) appear with all the text in outlines. If I open these files from illustrator, all is well and there are no problems at all. I proceed this way because I find it to be the fastest way to do so, since each saving of a file takes from 5 to 10 minutes. (ctrl+shift+s) and I save the file as a new outlines file and then close it. When finished, I save them (ctr+s), and then turn all the text into outlines and press save as. I work with heavy files that contain high resolution images and lots of text.
